What is SUP?
SUP is an international online media company with established partnerships with businesses across the globe. It was founded in the summer of 2006 by an international management team with Russian seed capital. SUP set itself the goal of building a portfolio of high-traffic-generating projects based in Moscow from which to expand worldwide. It has offices in Moscow and San Francisco.
Since its launch SUP has generated Russian-language traffic and sold advertising inventory on its own sites and others inside Russia. These projects include:
- LiveJournal.com, the most popular blogging platform and social network in Russia, and one of the first blogging sites in the USA. It was originally run under license in Russia before it was aquired outright in December 2007. It has over 15 million accounts worldwide and continues to add over 200,000 every month;
- Championat.ru, the most popular online only sports news site in Russia;
- +SOL, a media sales house which acts as SUP’s internal commercial department and sells online advertising for a number of high profile Russian and international websites (Yahoo!, Last.fm, The Times, among others). +SOL's partners include Mindshare Interaction, Zenith Optimedia and Optimum Media OMD;
- Victory S.A., a full-service online advertising agency which devises and delivers online marketing campaings for leading Russian and international brands.

It connects bloggers with the BBC Russian website, bbcrussian.com, via Russia’s largest blogging platform, LiveJournal.
- Van Den Belt joins SUP - leading Russian online media company 1 april 2008
SUP today announced that Annelies Van Den Belt will be joining their executive team as its new Russian General Manager on June 1st. Ms Van Den Belt will have responsibility for all of SUP’s operations in Russia and the former USSR. In addition to her Moscow-based role she will oversee the development of revenue streams worldwide.
