On March 4, 2007 LiveJournal has removed the quota for 750 friends that each LJ user was allowed to have. The quota was in place since LiveJournal appeared in 1999.

From this moment on, the owners of Plus and Basic accounts can have up to 1,000 friends, while Paid account holders can have up to 2,000 friends.
