Accounts deleting: what’s going on actually?

In connection with heightened interest to a theme of accounts deleting Live Journal’s management considers it necessary to explain a current situation in detail.
At the moment journals are not being deleted due to inactivity, and any messages indicated the opposite are contrary to fact.
In July, 2010 was made the decision on purging of the permanently suspended accounts for increasing the speed and a site overall performance. According to the rules of LiveJournal, after deleting and purging of an account any released name can be occupied by other user, wishing to be renamed. This possibility has been offered by Live Journal’s founder Brad Fitzpatrick and accessible since October, 2002.
